On this medium, I go by my initials, “TL”. I am a married man and father of two grown children. When we married, my precious bride was 39 and I was 28 with two small children in tow, but she helped me to raise them as her own.

I grew up in a non-denominational Christian Church, and have studied Bible since before I could read one. I have developed an understanding quite my own, but have found my understanding makes me most comfortable around those in the United Methodist Church of which my wife and I have been members since shortly after I came into program in 2010.

In March, 2014 I retired from a profession I choose not to name, and have recently started a second career as a nurse, largely because the Big Book says, “Our real purpose is to fit ourselves to be of maximum service to God and the people about us” (Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 77).

I write for the recreational and therapeutic benefits and as a ministry to any who find my bread crumbs helpful in their path-finding. My passion is to help people find the abundant life that Jesus came to bestow on us according to John 10:10. I believe that comes by denying our sinful/flesh/human nature (cravings, compulsions) and seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, so that He can add the blessings to our life He has in store for us. I have come to this belief and practice by working the Twelve Steps of Overeaters Anonymous, since my primary carnal compulsion is to eat. Living those steps to the best of my ability has placed me under God’s grace which, in turn, has freed me from 140 physical pounds and inestimable emotional weight.
