Today was a good day. I stayed on track, and spent the day grateful. I finished it off with a good Judo workout.
Today’s chapter of Proverbs (23) was all about the evils of various forms of self-indulgence: gluttony, money-grabbing, rich delicacies, self-aggrandizement, selfish lording, parental indulgence of children, envy, wandering from the true path, despising parental wisdom, drunkenness, despising wisdom, adultery and fornication, inebriated stupor. One of my favorite parts, for my purpose was, “Do not crave (a ruler’s) delicacies, for that food is deceptive.” The plain food is what is mine. The fancy feast is for kings and their Persian kittens!
